Updated: Jun 6

With the release of the schedule on Wednesday, I find it prudent to predict how the season will go for the Cowboys with their new additions, coach, and an overall new team than the one we just saw play out that miserable 2024 season.

Week 1 @ Philedelphia Eagles 7:20 PM CST

ree

This Cowboys team is far from the one the eagles swept last year. With a healthy Dak Prescott and a new and improved offensive system, they pose a formidable challenge for the team coming off of one of the most dominant playoff runs we've seen as of late. Not only that, the cowboys will have to watch the eagles host their championship banner, something the cowboys haven't achieved since 1996. Now the cowboys do have some advantages here, as Dak is 9-4 against the eagles and 2-1 against Hurts all time, and the Eagles no longer have Darius Slay, leaving young stars like Mitchell and Dejean against Pickens and Lamb. However, the Eagles offensive firepower will prove to be a little too much, and they will take this game in an exciting opening game with the score of 31-27.

Dallas:0-1

Dak:24-40 298 yards 3 TD

Lamb:9 Catches 119 yds 2 TD

Hurts:21-29 243 yards 2TD 1 RTD

Barkley:25 Carries 176 yds 1TD

Smith:5 catches 87 yds 1TD

Brown:7 Catches 98 yds 1 TD

Week 2 Vs New York Giants 12:00 PM CST

ree

Moving On, The Cowboys will play another division rival, but one that they have had much success over in the past couple of years, the Giants. Not much explanation here, even though the Giants had a good draft with getting their qb for the future and also improving their d-line, arguably having one of the best in the league. I don't see a reality where this team takes down dallas, not to mention a QB that is 12-0 against them since 2016. The Cowboys will easily take this by a score of 37-20 and will improve to 1-1 on the season.

Dak:31-38 287 Yds 3 Td 1 RTD 1INT

Lamb:10 Catches 145 Yds 1TD

Pickens:5 Catches 65 Yds 2TD

Wilson:17-29 198 YDS 2TD 2 INT

Nabers:6 Catches 67 Yds 1 TD

Week 3:@Chicago Bears 3:25 CST

The return of eberflus to Chicago, a bittersweet-well more bitter than sweet for the bears fans of course. This is the first time we will see the Dak Vs Caleb matchup, which will probably have some interesting plays and throws made by the both of them. However, the story of this game will be the run game for the boys and the bears. The Bears and the Cowboys had the run defense rank 27th and 29th, the bottom 5 of the league. With the cowboys new and improved run game using players like Javonte and Jaydon Blue, and the bears with Deandre Swift. This will be the battle of the run games, however, with the addition of eberflus. He will be able to neutralize Caleb and the offense just enough to supply a 27-17 win over chicago on the road.

ree

Dak:19-30 218 yds 1 td

Jaydon Blue:23 Car 124 yds 2 TD

Ceedee Lamb:4 catches 67 yds 1TD

Caleb:17-35 256 yds

Swift:19 Car 115 yds 2 TD

Moore:3 catches 75 yds

Dal:2-1

Week 4 vs Packers 7:20 pm CST

The demons of the past comes back to face off again. The cowboys are 2-9 against the packers since 2010, and 1-5 with Dak Prescott as the QB. Not to add insult to injury, but the packers have never lost at ATNT Stadium and are fresh off the memory of the wild card blowout over the Cowboys 48-32 in the 2023 wild card round. People love to attribute to the firepower of rodgers and love and give them the credit for the wins over the Cowboys. However, the unsung hero of the wins recently has been the running backs. Aaron Jones went 83 carries for 432 yds and 9 TDS over the course of 4 years vs the cowboys, and is the main reason as to why the cowboys lost to them. Even though the packers are without Aaron Jones, they have Josh Jacobs, who has had some semblance of success over the cowboys, going for 23 carries 104 yds against the boys in the thanksgiving game in 2021. This time though, I strongly believe the new and improved firepower that the cowboys have acquired with George Pickens and Ceedee Lamb will be strong enough to get the job done, finally, over the Packers. The cowboys will win a close one 31-28, and exercise their demons of the past.

ree

Dak:30-45 321 Yds 3TD 2INT

Ceedee:10 Catches 111 yds 1 TD

Pickens:9 Catches 130 YDS 2 TD

Love:21-30 295 yds 3 TD 2INT

Jacobs:21 Car 98 yds 1 TD

Doubs: 7 Catches 87 yds 2 TD

Dal:3-1

Week 5 @ Jets 12:00 PM CST

Moving on to week 5, we have the cowboys traveling to the big apple to face a New York team not named the Giants?? That's right, for the first time since that dumb loss back in 2019, the Cowboys face off against the Jets in Metlife. The Cowboys beat the jets back in 2023 30-10, but this ain't the same team that they beat then. With Justin Fields under the center and Garett Wilson spread wide, the Jets will be a formidable challenge for the Boys in Blue. However, The Cowboys will neutralize the Jets with not a easy, but not a tough game with a score of 32-13.

ree

Dak:24-32 276 yds 2TD

Blue:17 Car 77 Yds 1 Td

Lamb:10 Catches 110 Yds 1 TD

Fields:18-34 198 yds 1RTD

Wilson: 5 Catches 77 Yds

Dal:4-1

Week 6 @ Carolina 12;00 CST

For some reason, the NFL has some obsession with seeing the Cowboys and Panthers face off again for the third time in a row. I won't explain much here, even with the additions of Mcmillan and Bryce Young's improvements over the course of 2 years of being in the league which is impressive. The result that has occured the past 2 seasons will happen again, as the Cowboys will win 27-10.

ree

Dak:27-33 287 Yds 2 TD

Blue:16 Car 75 yds 1 TD

Lamb:7 Catches 87 yds 1 TD

Young:21-36 187 yds 1TD

McMillian:7 Catches 88 yds 1 TD

Dal:5-1

Week 7 vs Commanders 3;25 PM CST

Probably the one game on the schedule that I am most excited to see, the matchup between Jayden Daniels and Dak Prescott. But also the one between Mclaurin and Diggs, which has been a long-standing rivalry dating back to 2020. Dak has teared up the Commanders since they were the redskins, with a record of 8-3 over the Commanders and teared them up in 2023 by posting a combined 598 yds 6TD and 1 Int. However, This is far the team that they are now, after making the conference championship last year and also adding Deebo Samuel, the Commanders are locked and loaded for a deep run and a way to give the Eagles a run for their money in the NFC. However, the Cowboys will take this game. For some odd reason, Jayden Daniels has struggled for some reason against the cowboys, as evidenced by the one game in week 12 and the half he played in week 18. I believe that the Cowboys will be able to fend off Daniels and company for a 31-23 win, an important win to maintain their division record.

ree

Dak: 26-35 298 yds 3 TD

Lamb:9 Catches 110 yds 2 TD

Pickens: 7 Catches 98 yds 1 TD

Daniels:27-37 310 yds 2 TD

Mclaurin:8 Catches 66 yds 1 TD

Dal:6-1

Week 8 @ Broncos 3:25 PM CST

What looks to be a easy win for the Cowboys will most definetly turn into a trap game. The Cowboys have not beaten the Broncos since 1996. Now that the Broncos are improved with star QB Bo Nix and Wr Courtland Sutton. The Broncos will easily and shockingly take down the Cowboys in this game by the score of 33-21. But one positive the Cowboys will pull away from this game is the emergence of Javonte Williams, who I predict will start to make his prescence more increasingly over the next couple of weeks, starting with this game.

ree

Dak:20-37 210 yds 1 TD 1 INT

Javonte: 17 Carries 87 yds 2 TD

Ceedee Lamb:7 Catches 70 yds 1 TD

Bo Nix; 28-37 299 yds 3 TD

Sutton:8 Catches 96 yds 2 TD

Dal:6-2

Week 9 vs Cardinals 7:15 PM CST

Moving on, the Cowboys return home to face another player that has never lost in ATNT stadium, the Arizona Cardinals. It feels like the Schedule makers either want to see the Cowboys get humiliated again by teams that have owned them constantly in the past, or either want to see them get their revenge against such teams. Either way, I'm all for it. With Marvin Harrison Jr. coming to the Big D and obviously Kyler murray who is 6-0 at ATNT stadium having grown up here in Allen, Texas. Nevertheless, the Cardinals have serious issues on both sides of the ball. Most of their offense revolves around Kyler Murray playmaking and Marvin harrison. If they are able to handle both of them, the Cowboys will easily take this game 33-17.

ree

Dak:24-31 308 yds 2 Tds 1 INT

Javonte:15 carries 60 yds 2 TD

Ceedee:9 Catches 100 yds 1 TD

Kyler Murray:17-36 256 yds 1 TD 1 RTD

MVH3:8 catches 97 yds 1TD

Dal:7-2

Week 10: Bye

Week 11 @ Las Vegas Raiders 7:15 pm CST

Moving on the by week, the cowboys will be well rested to tackle the harder part of their schedule, they start with a relatively easy game against the Las Vegas Raiders, who are in the midst of a rebuild at the moment. However, the raiders have some sneakily explosive pieces. With heisman runner-up Ashton Jeanty who nearly broke Barry Sanders's college rushing record and Brock Bowers, fresh off an 1,000 yard season and is PFF's 6th rated TE. The Cowboys have a history to being exploited by pieces like this, as in 2023, they were upset by Arizona with their run game, and the year before it was Jacksonville, and the year before that it was Denver. The Cowboys will need to remain at their A-game, which they will, and they will take out the Las Vegas Raiders 30-16.

ree

Dak:21-35 223 yds 1 TD

Javonte:24 carries 123 yds 2TD

Lamb:6 catches 77 yds

Jeanty:27 carries 119 yds 1 TD

Bowers;7 catches 65 yds

Cowboys:8-2

Week 12 vs Philadelphia Eagles 3:25 PM CST

Now starts the hard part of their schedule, they start with the Super Bowl champs and their bitter rival, the Eagles. Seeking revenge from losing back in week 1, the Cowboys are at home where they have been succesful against the eagles. Dating back to 2016, the Cowboys are 6-2 against the Eagles at home and Dak especially is 9-4 against Philly. The trick of this game will have to be a fast start on offense and containing Saquon Barkley on defense, something that they failed to do in the opener. Dak and the offense will continue their offensive hot streak and their offensive abilities they exercised in the first game. But this time, the Cowboys defense will hold off Saquon and Hurts and Ultimately lead to the Cowboys taking this game in a very close affair 34-28.

ree

Dak:24-38 270 yds 3 TD

Lamb:14 Catches 113 yds 2 TD

Hurts:21-31 211 Yds 2TD

Barkley:20 Carries 91 yds 1TD

Dal:9-2

Week 13 vs Chiefs Thanksgiving 3:25 PM CST

Now they get the Super-bowl runner ups in their next game, boy what a easy game this is going to be. The Chiefs were once known for their offensive firepower with the legion of zoom. The trio of Hill, Kelce, and Mahomes put up insane numbers on the offensive side. From 2019-2021, the Chiefs were top ten in offensive rankings, and averaged nearly 400 yds per game. However, ever since Hill's departure, the offense hasn't been the same exactly. In 2024 the Chiefs were 16th offensively, and averaged only 25 points per game. Kelce's averages dipped this year to 40 yds per game. The king himself Mahomes, experienced probably his worst season to date, having a passer rating of 93.5 and posting 26 TDS and 11 INT. With all of that though, the Chiefs went 15-2 and still made the super bowl. How? Well, we look at possibly the most crucial and important part of this entire team, Steve Spagnola. Spagnola's career as a head coach is nothing special, in fact, its actually terrible. He went 12-44 over 8 years. However as a DC, he is nothing short of marvelous. Everyone looks at Mahomes for his clutch antics in the Postseason, rightfully so. However they gloss over how well the defense has played in this time. In the 2023 Postseason, the Kansas City Chiefs went up against the Dolphins, Ravens, Bills, and Niners. All of whom had top ten offenses and numerous stars and the MVP Lamar Jackson and Offensive player of the Year Christian McCaffery. The Chiefs held these teams to a total of 6 TDS Combined! They held QBS like Josh Allen, Tua, Lamar, and Purdy all below their season averages. And just to tell you how absurd the 6 TDS Stat is, the team they face off against the Cowboys, in that same postseason, gave up 6 TDS to the Packers, who were no where close to the teams the Chiefs faced. With all of this in mind, the Chiefs will use their defensive schemes to confuse Prescott and the Offense, and Mahomes will do just enough to guarantee a 26-21 win over the Cowboys on thanksgiving. Mahomes will beat his Childhood favorite team in his first time playing in Arlington.

ree

Dak:21-39 234 yds 2 TD 1 INT

Lamb:7 Catches 79 yds 1 TD

Mahomes:22-40 215 yds 2 TD

Kelce;6 Catches 55 yds 1 TD

Dal:9-3

Week 14 @ Detroit 7:20 PM CST

The Cowboys will look to rebound after the loss on Thanksvgiving by traveling to Detroit for a TNF matchup. No long rest for the boys, as they look to exact their revenge on a team that beat them 47-9 last season. Like I said before, this season is all about righting the wrongs of the past and exacting revenge on teams that have plagued us in the past. However, the might of Detroit will be too strong. Even though they lost their offensive mastermind in Ben Johnson, Detroit is still far more physical and talented then Dallas on the offensive end with two pro bowl running backs in Gibbs and Montgomery, and the offensive threats of St.Brown and Laporta, Detroit will take down Dallas in a offensive shootout 35-45.

ree

Dak:31-47 342 yds 4 TD 1 INT

Lamb:12 Catches 198 yds 2 TD

Goff:29-38 304 yds 3 TD

Gibbs:16 Carries 90 yds 1 TD

Montgomery:15 Carries 77 yds 2 TDs

Dal:9-4

Week 15 vs Vikings 7:20 PM CST

The Cowboys will return home reeling from a 2 game losing streak looking to take down another NFC North opponent. Dallas has had success against the vikings, being 3-0 against them in the last 3 matchups and beating them 40-3 the last times these two teams met up in 2022. This is also the first time the Vikings are visiting Dallas since 2019. However, like I've said probably a thousand times now while referencing past matchups, this is not the same vikings team... entirely. Now they are under leadership of a new rookie Qb, JJ McCarthy. Also, remember when I talked about the Packers game, and I said that they didn't have Aaron Jones anymore. Well... the Vikings have him. Not to mention Justin Jefferson, Vikings all-pro reciever who will battle against Trevon diggs. Who has had some relative success against Jefferson. Holding him to just 3 Catches and 33 yards last time these two met. Needless to say, I can speak for all Cowboys fans when I say we do not want Aaron Jones to have another game like the ones he's had before. Regardless, the Cowboys is looking to rebound after a 2-game losing streak, and Prescott especially will have a strong game to lead the cowboys to a 32-21 victory.

ree

Dak:23-32 292 yds 3 TDS

Lamb:9 Catches 111 yds

Pickens:6 catches 76 yds 2 TDS

Jefferson: 9 Catches 99 yds 1 TD

Jones:18 carries 88 yds 1 TD

Dal:10-4

Week 16 vs Chargers 3:25 PM CST Saturday special

The Cowboys will take on the Chargers in a saturday game. A matchup that will feature the third time that prescott and Herbert will match up against each other. Wierdly, Prescott has bested Herbert in the same score 20-17 and the same way both times. With the Cowboys hitting a go ahead field goal both times in order to beat them. The Chargers are a team that will make this game a good one, and especially a saturday special in Dallas. It's kind of been a history thing with these two teams. Romo and Rivers featured many classics in 2009 and in 2013, games that featured high-octane offenses and exciting finishing plays, similar to Prescott and Herbert's matchups. But enough about history, let's focus on the present and the facts. And the facts are, the Chargers have had trouble containing the Cowboys offensive pass attack, something that has plagued them in the past. But the cowboys have had the same problem, this time with the Chargers rushing attack, which seems to be their offensive identity. Look for the cowboys to take this game in another classic between the two teams by the score of 28-25.

ree

Dak:27-32 287 yds 2 TDS

Javonte:21 carries 100 yds 1 TD

Lamb:8 Catches 80 yds

Herbert:24-35 yds 245 yds 1 TD

McConkey:10 Catches 110 yds 1TD

Dal:11-4

Week 17 @ Commanders 12:00 PM CST

The Cowboys travel back to Washington to take their division rivals and Jayden Daniels for their second matchup of the season. In a christmas matchup that is sure to be another NFC east week 17 classic, unfortunately, the Cowboys will lose this game. The Commanders are locked and loaded for a deep run this year. They fell to the Cowboys the first time due to the rocking crowd of ATNT Stadium and their inexperience. However, this time they will be able to hold off Dak and the Boys on their way to a 31-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at Home

ree

Dak;27-35 298 yds 2 TDS

Lamb:10 Catches 143 yds 1 TD

Daniels:23-35 256 yds 3 TDS

Mclaurin:6 catches 110 yds 1 TD

Dal:11-5

Week 18 @ NY Giants 12:00 PM CST

Now, we have finally reached the end of the year. Where the Cowboys at this point will probably be playing for division seeding and playoff seeding. If the Cowboys were resting their starters, I would probably say New York Takes this game. However, in the last 6 out of 7 years, The cowboys haven't rested their starters on week 18, as they have always been playing for playoff position and division seeding. As a result, the Cowboys will take this game easily, ending off their season at 12-5 with a score of 38-10. In a game that will also feature the first matchup of Prescott and Dart.

ree

Dak:31-35 308 yds 3 TDS 1 INT

Lamb:12 Catches 122 yds 2 TDS

Dart:19-38 208 yds 1 TD 2 INT

Dal:12-5

Well, there you have it, my full predictions and thoughts of how the Dallas Cowboys season is going to go. They finish with a record of 12-5 and end up 4-2 in the division. Now, there are a couple games that could go a different way. The Packers could win, the Cowboys could beat the Chiefs. Hell, the Raiders could upset the Cowboys. But that is the beauty of the NFL. Any given Sunday, any team, regardless of their record, could win.
