Welcome to a new series, where I will be depicting the greatest moments of the Dallas Sports teams dating back to 2010. Today, we start with a a dive into history, not the full history but looking back some of the best moments dating back to 2010 for the Dallas Cowboys. Even if the seasons have ended in disappointment, they have been filled with some extrodinary events, ones that we will look into.
Ugliest game of the Year?

The 10-1, near unstoppable Saints marched into the Big D to take on the resurging 6-5 Dallas Cowboys in a TNF week 13 matchup. No one gave the Cowboys any chance, not one analyst thought they could pull off the upset of the season. But the Cowboys defense put on a masterclass. Putting 5 sacks on Drew Brees and even forcing the game winning interception off of him, something that you do not see from a hall of fame guy like Brees. On the offensive side, Dak and Zeke did just enough to pull off a 13-10 victory, jumpstarting the Cowboys run into the playoffs.
Classic Romo comeback

In a 2011 Week 2 matchup, the Cowboys traveled to Santa Clara to take on the Niners. Seemed like a routine game, however midway, Tony Romo suffered an injury to his ribs, and was sidelined for majority of the game. Replacement Jon Kitna did just enough to keep the game within reach, and it set the stage for Romo's magnificent comeback. With the score 14-24, Tony Romo threw a Td pass to Miles Austin to cut the game to 3. After another defensive stop by Dallas, Romo was able to get into field goal range to send the game into overtime. In overtime, on the very first play, Jesse Holloway took a Romo pass nearly 78 yards before being downed at the one. All that was needed was for a Bailey chip shot field goal, and the Cowboys pulled off the win 27-24.
The last Romo vs Ben Duel(Week 15 2012)

The 7-6 Steelers traveled to the Big D for a matchup with.... the 7-6 Cowboys. A matchup that had huge implications for the playoffs for both teams. It was a battle, as Touchdowns to Dez Bryant, Antonio Brown, Heath Miller; some heavy hitters were very present in this matchup. However in the 4th, the Steelers had the edge over the Cowboys. It was 24-17, and the Cowboys were forced to punt, to Antonio brown no less. He took the return well into Dallas territory, and it looked bleak for a second. Then, Anthony Hitchens plucked the ball out of Brown's hands as he was going downfield, and the Cowboys regained possession. Thanks to him, the Cowboys were able to march down the field and score a touchdown to send the game into overtime. The Steelers had the ball first, but on the second play of their drive, cornerback Brandon Carr picked off a pass intended for Mike Wallace, and returned it all the way down to the one yard line. After a chip shot field goal from Bailey, the Cowboys won 27-24.
A Dak & Cooper Takeover

The 6-6 Eagles traveled to Arlington to take on the 7-5 Cowboys, one week after they upset the Saints as explained in number 10. The game was a defensive battle, as the Eagles had forced 3 turnovers on Prescott, and the Cowboys defense had held the eagles offense to just 9 points. After a 9-9 tie in the 4th, Prescott threw a beautiful deep ball to Amari Cooper to give the Cowboys a 16-9 lead. Wentz drove all the way down the field to answer Prescott and tie the game up at 16 apiece. With 2:56 remaining in the game, on the very first play of the drive, Prescott lofted another deep ball to, you guessed it, Amari Cooper, who took it 75 yards to the house and give the Cowboys a 23-16 lead. Once again, Wentz answered, with an impressive 75 yard drive to send the game into overtime. However, Dak answered again, driving all the way into the Eagles redzone after clutch throw after clutch throw. With 2:00 remaining in overtime, on 3rd and 8, Prescott found, once again, Amari Cooper on a crazy tip drill touchdown. With this 29-23 victory, the Cowboys effectively had clinched the NFC EAST.
A Dak n Zeke masterclass

It's no secret that the 2016 Dallas Cowboys were something special to watch, but this game is what solidified the league that Dak and Zeke were a duo to be noticed. The 7-1 Cowboys traveled to Pittsburgh to take on the 4-4 Steelers. Despite the records, this game was close, and just like when these two teams met 4 years ago, the stars took the show. Dez Bryant had an impressive 50 yard catch for a td to put the Cowboys up 23-18, but Big Ben answered with a touchdown to make it 23-24. For some odd reason, Pittsburgh wanted to go for 2 a lot this game, and that is what probably led to this loss. Prescott and company would drive all the way down the field and Ezekiel Elliot would punch in the score to make it 29-24, after the Steelers stopped the Cowboys on their 2 point try. Now it was Big Ben's turn, and he pulled off a spectacular fake spike throw to Antonio Brown to give the Steelers a 30-29 lead, after of course, they missed the 2 point try. Now it was time for Prescott's clutch time. With one minute remaining, Prescott ripped a couple of big throws to Witten and Beasley, and got a little favor from Mike Mitchell, who gave the Cowboys a 15 yard penalty. The Cowboys were in FG range with one of the best kickers in Dan bailey, but Zeke wasn't satisfied. The young rookie, with just 12 second remaining, ripped off a 32 yard TD run to ice the game, and give the Cowboys an impressive win over the Steelers.
The Big Three takes down Seattle

The Big Three of the 2014 team took on the defending super bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks, and their Legion of Boom. Well, the Cowboys smacked the Legion of Boom in their mouth with an impressive run game that featured Demarco Murray and Joseph Randle. Down 23-20, Tony Romo pulled up an impressive escape play from multiple sacks and found Terrance Williams for a even more impressive toe-tap catch on 3rd and 20. Pair that with a Dez Bryant reception and multiple carries by Murray, and the Cowboys took a 27-23 lead over Seattle. The Dallas defense was able to hold off Wilson and the offense two times, and after a interception by Rolando McClain, the Cowboys won this game 30-23. I'm not going to explain too much like I did the last ones, because this game is very exciting to just watch.
A Bomb on 3rd and 30!

Now this was a divisional matchup for the ages, the 13-1 Eagles traveled to Arlington to take on the 10-4 Dallas Cowboys in a pivotal matchup for division standing. It started off rough for the Cowboys, as the Eagles jumped off to a 10-0 lead after a errand Dak Prescott throw was taken back for a pick six. But just like always, Dak was resilient, and kept making great throw after great throw to cut Philly's lead as their offense also kept on the pressure. In the 4th, the Cowboys were down 34-27, and they were back to driving again. However, after multiple sacks by the Eagles d-line, the Cowboys were backed up to a 3rd and 30. Then, Prescott stepped back and launched one of the best throws of his career. A in-stride pass to T.Y. Hilton that completely flipped the field and went for about 60 yards through the air. Thanks to a Ceedee Lamb TD, the Cowboys tied the game up 34-34, and after a couple of field goals and clutch defensive stops. The Cowboys held on to a 40-34 victory over the Eagles.
A Prescott Masterclass vs the GOAT

The Wild Card game vs the GOAT Tom Brady was one to be remembered for number 4. Coming into this game, it was no secret that the Cowboys were favorites. However, Prescott had a turnover issue in this Season, and the Cowboys had never beaten brady before. Brady was 7-0 against the Cowboys, and the Bucs had beaten the Cowboys badly in week 1 19-3, and people picked the Bucs to upset the Cowboys. However, after a slow start, Prescott picked it up, and started an offensive onslaught paired with stout defensive play. After a ridiculous cross body throw in the endzone, the Cowboys were up 18-0 at halftime. For some reason, Brett Maher hadn't made a extra point till the end, so the Cowboys were up 18-0 instead of 21-0. Prescott didn't stop, touchdown after another, and the Cowboys won this game convincingly 31-14, with Dak throwing 4 tds and running for another one.
Romo Magic comes through again

The 2014 Dallas Cowboys were special, and they met with an unfortunate end with a terrible call. But what people forget was the game before this. The 2014 Wild Card game vs the Lions put the Cowboys in serious trouble. The Cowboys were down 14-0 quickly, but the Cowboys responded with a Terrance Williams for a 76 yard TD. Midway through the 3rd, down 20-7, Tony Romo hit Dez Bryant for a big completion that took the Cowboys down to the redzone. After Murray punched it in, and the Cowboys hit another field goal, they had cut the deficit to 3 by a score of 20-17. But, the Lions were driving. After a controversial picked up penalty, the Cowboys defense forced a stop and gave Romo a chance to win the game. He did exactly that, after clutch throw after clutch throw, Romo did his patented escape play and found Terrance Williams in the back of the endzone for a TD to put the Cowboys up 4. After rookie Demarcus Lawrence forced the game winning fumble, the Cowboys moved onto the divisional round.
A Playoff Matchup Worth the Hype
The Greatest Moment of the Cowboys decade boils down to this game right here. The Wild card matchup between Russell Wilson's Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. This game was a defensive battle for 3 quarters, as the score was 14-10 Seattle heading into the 4th. That's when Prescott stepped up. With a big throw and completion to Amari Cooper and a big run to set up an Ezekiel Elliot Td to give the Cowboys a 17-14 lead. Couple of punts later, and the Cowboys had the ball once again. Needing a score to put this game out of reach for Wilson, The Cowboys took advantage of multiple Seattle penalties before reaching a 3rd and 14 inside the 20 yard line with 3 minutes remaining. That's when Prescott broke off an impressive run, breaking 3 tackles, including one from hall of famer Bobby Wagner, and took it all the way down to the one yard line. After a Qb sneak, the Cowboys led 24-14 over the Seahawks. But Wilson wouldn't go away, driving all the way down the field and scoring a TD and the two point conversion due to their lack of kicker. Due to this, the Seahawks were unable to attempt a successful onside kick, and Dallas easily recovered and won the game. Dak and Zeke's first playoff win.
We have recapped the greatest moments of the Dallas Cowboys recent history, my opinion of course, next up, the Dallas Mavericks.
