The Rangers now have wrapped the second week of the season. Some ups to start the week and some downs of course to end the week. Let's see how the boys fare after week 2,

It was a bounce-back week for the Texas Rangers, who managed to shake off a rough slump to dominate their division rivals before hitting a speed bump in Los Angeles.

Here is the recap for the week of April 6–12, 2026:

The Home Sweep: Rangers vs. Mariners

The Rangers started the week on a mission at Globe Life Field, sweeping the Seattle Mariners in a three-game set. This was a critical turnaround after the team had previously dropped four straight games.

  • Monday, April 6 (TEX 2, SEA 1): Jacob deGrom set the tone, striking out six over five innings. The Rangers snapped their losing streak thanks to a gritty performance and a game-ending double play.

  • Tuesday, April 7 (TEX 3, SEA 2): Nathan Eovaldi earned the win in another tight contest. The pitching staff remained dominant, holding the Mariners to just two runs for the second straight night.

  • Wednesday, April 8 (TEX 3, SEA 0): MacKenzie Gore completed the sweep with a gem, shutting out Seattle. The Rangers' rotation looked elite during this stretch, allowing only three total runs across the series.

The West Coast Road Trip: Rangers at Dodgers

The momentum slowed down as the team traveled to California to face the powerhouse Los Angeles Dodgers.

  • Friday, April 10 (LAD 8, TEX 7): A heartbreaker. Kumar Rocker started, and while the Rangers' offense put up seven runs, the bullpen couldn't hold off a late Dodgers surge.

  • Saturday, April 11 (LAD 6, TEX 3): Jack Leiter took the mound, but the Dodgers' bats proved too much. Texas struggled to capitalize with runners in scoring position, leading to a second straight loss.

  • Sunday, April 12 (Ongoing): As of this afternoon, the Rangers are looking to salvage the final game of the series. Jacob deGrom is back on the hill facing off against Roki Sasaki in a highly anticipated pitching duel.

Key Takeaways & Standings

  • Pitching Dominance: The "Big Three" of deGrom, Eovaldi, and Gore were phenomenal against Seattle, providing a blueprint for how this team can win the AL West.

  • Offensive Consistency: While the bats were quiet against Cincinnati last weekend, they’ve shown more life this week, particularly with Corey Seager and Josh Jung finding their rhythm.

  • Current Record: Following the Seattle sweep and the first two games in LA, the Rangers currently sit at 7–8 for the season.

The Rangers's bats came alive this week, but still some kinks to fix. Such as Ezekiel Duran, who had a great week and has possibly earned himself a spot in the starting 9. The Rangers had a great chance vs the Dodgers on Friday, but Max Muncy's 3 homers, including one to walk it off spoiled it for them. Wasn't a fantastic week, but it sure was a step in the right direction.
