The Future of the Rangers

After a 31-35 start for the 2023 WS champs, it almost feels like the team is stuck in mediocrity, the same cycle they escaped when they won the World Series. Now in 24, they were plagued by injuries. Both to their hitting core like players like Garcia and Seager, but also in their pitching core. Players like Degrom and Scherzer sustained multiple injuries that kept the Rangers aces back from producing. Now in 2025, the Rangers pitching has come alive, with their bullpen ranking 16th and the Rangers starter's era's being 6th in the whole league. However, their hitting has fallen off of a cliff. What seemed to be the Rangers strong suit has turned into their greatest weakness. In 2023, the Rangers caught everybody by suprise with their hitting and was the main factor in their championship run. Seager, Semien, Garcia hit a collective average of .306 and tallied a combined 715 home runs. Not just them too, it seemed like the entire hitting core came alive, especially in the playoffs. Now, Semien and Garcia have mightily struggled, and there are even talks about Garcia potentially being traded or let go. The same can be for Semien and Seager, who hasn't been that bad, but still haven't returned to their peak form in 2023. As I'm writing this, they have 13 runs in the 6th inning, so maybe this is a sign for the times changing of the 2025 season. But, the Rangers need to keep up this type of consistency and need to start building wins back if they are to return another championship to Arlington, because unlike their neighbors Mavs and Cowboys, The Rangers still have a chance to win a championship.
