A lot of us would like to see this season put in the rearview mirror, it's time to recap the top ten moments from this 2025 season to finally put this to rest.
OFF THE BYE WEEK MASTERCLASS

Coming off of the bye week at 3-5-1, the Cowboys were on the road to take on the Las Vegas Raiders, who were absolutely in the dumpster. The first game after Kneeland's passing. Prescott, Lamb, and Pickens had incredible games to propel the Cowboys to a 33-16 blowout victory. The new defense for the Dallas Cowboys which featured the duo of Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams. That of which terrorized Geno Smith and Ashotn Jeanty for the entire game. While this win didn't mean anything in terms of taking this team seriously. It was a nice gesture after the passing of their teammate.
RETURN OF THE LAMB/PICKENS VS LATTIMORE

In a week 7 game, the Cowboys needed a win coming off of a heartbraking loss vs the Panthers, and with the return of Lamb and the Commanders receivers being injured, the Cowboys were primed to be in for a blowout win. Not just that, but the Cowboys offense also saw the return of CeeDee Lamb to the offense, and he exploded onto the scene with an insane play for a 74 yard touchdown. The offense as a whole generated 400 yards of offense. Everybody got involved in one way or another. In a game that I personally attended, the Dallas Cowboys had put on a offensive masterclass vs their opponent.
RISE OF THE YOUNG BUCKS

It is safe to say that a lot of the young guys for Dallas this year got off to a rocky start, Revel, Guyton, Bland, Carson. Flouronoy, Booker, and Overshown had great seasons respectively. Ryan stepped on and emerged himself over Turpin and Tolbert for the Wr3 spot, Tyler Booker added a nice push to the Dallas o line and has helped transformed the inner line into a force that Dallas can continue to center their run scheme around. Overshown had a nice bounce back season coming off of the ACL tear that he had. All around, with these 3 young guys, the future is insanely bright in Dallas for them and hopefully will continue their production next year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

In a generally uncompetitive game, Dallas faced off against Washington in a week 17 matchup that didn't mean anything for both teams. Usually division games mean a lot but Dallas was eliminated by then and Washington's quarterback was not playing as well as many of their other players. Still, it was nice to see Dallas come out with a good win on christmas day vs their division foe. Anytime we get the chance to beat one of our division rivals, is a day worth watching football for. Prescott didn't have his best game, but Kavonte Turpin burst with a 86-yard touchdown reception and Javonte Williams and Malik Davis both played incredible games.
LEGACY AWARD

In week 12, Prescott rolled out and threw a basic 9 yard pass that was caught by George Pickens which didn't mean anything in terms of the game. But what it meant was after 34,900 yards, thousands of completions, and 286 tds later after Prescott started for the Cowboys in 2016, and he had broken Tony Romo's record for most passing yards in Dallas Cowboys history. Listen love him or hate him, bash him for only winning 2 playoff games in ten years, watching him break the record, come back against Philly in the same day was a sight to see, and number 4, regardless of how the team is and what the outside noise is, will always show up for the Cowboys to give effort.
AUTOMATIC AUBREY

For some reason in a week 2 game vs the Giants, the Cowboys were engaged in a shootout with the Russell Wilson led Giants( first sign this defense was god awful). In the 4th quarter, 41 total points were scored across both teams and after a Malik Nabers touchdown, the Cowboys found themselves down by 3 with 14 seconds left. Prescott did his best to get the team in suitable range, but they were only able to get to the 47 yard line. That's when ace Brandon Aubrey came out an calmly hit a 64 yard field goal to send the game into overtime. On the Cowboys 3rd possession, Prescott ran up the middle down at around the 32 yard line to set up Aubrey for a game winner. Obviously, Aubrey aced the kick straight down the middle. In a league where kicking has evolved but there are teams that still struggle with kicking, having someone like Aubrey always comes in handy and it did right there.
TROUBLEMAKER?

Coming into the season, George Pickens was heralded as a diva or a locker room cancer for his antics in Pittsburgh, and because of it, many Cowboy and NFL fans felt that he would never be a valuable asset towards this offense. They were absolutely wrong, Pickens burst onto the scene, especially when Lamb went down in week 3. He and Prescott carried the offense and the team for the time that Lamb was out and overall had an impressive season with the Dallas. So much so that it is very evident that he will get a new contract with the Cowboys.

A TIE???

In a week 4 matchup with their longtime rivals, the Cowboys took on the Micah Parsons led Greenbay Packers who had one of the best defenses at the time and were coming to face a team without their star reciever Ceedee Lamb. It looked to be a blowout with the Packers acquiring an early 13-2 lead, but Dak, Pickens, and the offense led a resurgent effort to send this game into overtime 37 apiece. Prescott marched the team down to the 5 yard line after his improbable throw to Jalen Tolbert, where Micah Parsons sacked him just before he was getting ready to make his move toward the endzone. Jordan Love drove the Packers deep into Cowboys territory, but after poor management and a near miss, the Packers settled for a field goal, tying the game up 40, and ending it in the 2nd highest scoring tie of all time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL

Following their impressive victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. the Cowboys hosted Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs who were fresh off of their comeback against Indy. The game already started with shooting, Prescott and Mahomes both had themselves touchdowns in the 3rd quarter, but in the 4th, rather than seeing Mahomes take over the game, it was actually Prescott who stepped up and led a resurging effort to put the Cowboys comfortably up by ten. That was a lie, as Mahomes led the Chiefs down the field to score in 2 and a half minutes after having one of the craziest throws I'd seen. Dak, however, iced the game after to a slant to Pickens, and for the first time all year, the Cowboys were above 500 at 6-5-1. Unfortunately things went downhill from there but at the time, Prescott and the Cowboys had delivered just in time for dinner.
FOR KNEELAND

The tragic passing of Kneeland struck everybody hard, and the Eagles began the game by pummeling the Cowboys, going up 21-0. After Prescott's pick in the redzone, many people either switched off the tv or gave up hope. But the entire team resounded, and kept fighting, all of a sudden, the Cowboys found themselves down by 7 and the ball on midfield. That's when George Pickens and Dak Prescott took over. In 3 plays, Pickens mossed Cooper Dejean and brought dallas down to the 15 yard line. One play later, Prescott took off and dove over an Eagles defender for a touchdown. On their final drive, the pair hooked up again and put the Cowboys in easy field goal range for one of the best kicker in the league, and he drilled, beating the defending SB champs in Dallas 24-21. A warm gesture after the game, as some Cowboy players waved the flag featuring their dead teammate Marshawn Kneeland, who was still with them in spirit.
Like I've said, I know this season didn't turn out the way we wanted, but it had its moments, ten of them featured here, and more will come next year.
