What's next for number 4?

No secret that Dak ain't going anywhere for this team, the Dallas Cowboys would be indulging in ridiculousness if they decided to let him walk, but what will he look like next year?
Well for starters, physically he should be the same as this. Prescott entered the season in what he claimed to be the best shape of his life. Truth is, he probably was. Dak doesn't have the same mobility he once used too, but his mobility this year was enough to suffice his passing abilities, using the run to compliment his passing skills. Even strength wise, even though Dak had one sleeve covering his arm last year, which was removed this year, Prescott still seemed just a little buffer than in years past, which helped with not just his strength to evade tacklers but also to keep him healthy. Prescott had a couple minor injury scares but nothing to really worry about during the season, knowing Prescott's work ethic and how he treats himself during the off-season, I have a ton of faith that Dak will be the same physically next year. Only concern I have about all of this is his age. Prescott is no spring chicken, he will be 33 next year, in his 11th season. While that doesn't seem to be much of a factor at least to me because of the way he plays football, it is something to note.
As for his surroundings, not much should really be different than the 2025 campaign. Prescott will still have his favorite targets, George Pickens, Ceedee Lamb, Jake Ferguson; A great run game and scheme similar to what he had last year even if Javonte isn't on the team next year. A good thing to evaluate will be the tackle position, which has plagued Dallas these last few years. Terrance Steele has been really bad ever since his ACL injury and while it's hard to admit. The Cowboys have to start looking for options and packages for him. It sucks because he's a good anchor for this offensive line unit. Veteran, great in run blocking, good team player. But we can't have anymore drives killed because Terrance Steele himself is getting killed.
One thing before we wrap up. Prescott has never strung together 2 back to back high caliber seasons. After his impressive campaign in 2016, Prescott struggled in 2017. 2018 was a growth year for him, but nothing to write home about. 2019 was a better year for him, he finished top 5 in passing yards and passing tds. 2020 he shot off like a rocket, but his devastating ankle injury took place. Following his ankle injury in 2021, Prescott led the league in passing and had a great bounce back season, setting the Cowboys single-season touchdown record, but in 2022, Prescott struggled with a thumb injury and interception issues. He rebounded quite nicely in 2023, putting on a stellar mvp campaign, but in 2024, Prescott dealt with more turnover issues and got knocked out with a season ending hamstring injury. Context is missing for pretty much all of these years. Like Zeke's suspension in 2017, or the fact that Prescott's playcalling varied from year to year.
I'm excited to see whether or not Prescott can overcome the hurdle that he's been ever so chasing since his first year. Everyone still has their doubts about whether or not he can lead the Cowboys to the big game and snap their 31 NFC championship appearance. I for one, will always have faith in number 4 just like I did with 9.
